The modular Scubapro S-Tek fin is a technical diving fin, ideal for alternate kick performance and maneuverability. It has a streamlined profile and is constructed from Monperene (just like the well known Seawing Nova, Supernova and Go Sport fins).
This fin can be positively buoyany, neutrally buoyant or negatively buoyant by using the included weight plates. Without the plates, the fin will be positive, with one plate, it will be neutral and with 2 plates, it will be negatively buoyant. The plates are easy to add and remove, so the fin can be used for different types of diving, for example for drysuit diving at home and tropical diving when travelling.
With the plates fitted, it is approximately 40% lighter than the traditional Scubapro jet fin.
The fin has a 30 degree pre-angled blade, which allows for a stiffer blade without increasing drag. This reduces ankle strain (and cramps). The rigidised blade improves frog kick performance and boosts control and has vents to reduce drag even further. The larger rails on the baldes make these fins ideal for doing frog kicks, backward kicks and helictoper turns.
