The Mares XR 1.0m SMB is a small Surface Marker Buoy that can be powered by a low pressure inflator hose and it includes an over-pressure relief valve, allowing it to be deployed at depth.
The Mares XR is a compact SMB, only one meter long by 10 cm wide. It's made of 210D Nylon with TPU lamination and includes a TPU OPV retainer and inflation tube. The SMB is RF welded and double stitched. It features a 305 stainless steel D-ring at the bottom for attachment and a bungee loop for rolling and stowing the tube.
This tube can be inflated at depth via a stainless steel low-pressure inflation connector that incorporates a one-way valve. This particular closed-end design with an over-pressure relief valve, eliminates the chance of gas escaping during deployment or at the surface.
Although a SMB should not be used as a lift bag, for emergency purposes only a fully inflated Mares XR will have approximately 2 kg of lift when completely submerged.
