The Mares High Volume Single Backmount Set – XR Line is a streamlined backplate and wing system designed for divers who prioritise precise trim, dependable buoyancy control and a fully customisable configuration. Built around a high-volume donut-style bladder and stainless steel backplate, it provides a clean, stable setup for single-cylinder diving.
The 170N (17.5kg) lift wing uses a durable double-shell construction, combining a tough 1000D Cordura outer shell with a lightweight 210D nylon inner bladder. Its donut shape promotes smooth gas movement throughout the wing, helping divers maintain balanced buoyancy and efficient trim underwater. A K-Style Power Inflator with an oval corrugated hose provides straightforward buoyancy adjustment.
At the centre of the system is a 3mm stainless steel backplate, weighing 2.1kg and finished with smooth, rounded edges for comfort. The wing position can be adjusted using flat-head bolts, while the fully adjustable XR harness features stainless steel D-rings, trigliders and a robust metal waist buckle for a secure, personalised fit.
Supplied with two tank straps, the complete system weighs approximately 4.5kg.
